Potenziale und Grenzen des Europäischen Reformprozesses für die Medizin und die Gesundheitswissenschaften in Deutschland

Der Bologna-Prozess zur Schaffung eines Europäischen Hochschulraums hat die Reformbemühungen der deutschen Hochschulen in den vergangenen Jahren bestimmt. Dabei sind auch immer wieder Fragen zum Umgang mit den klassischen Staatsexamensstudiengängen laut geworden. Mit Blick auf die Medizin wurde häufig die Frage gestellt, ob der europäische Hochschulraum überhaupt eine tiefere Bedeutung für die Zukunft des Medizinstudiums haben könne oder vielmehr solle.
Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, genau diese Frage zu diskutieren: Welche Potentiale bietet der Europäische Hochschulraum für die Medizin, medizinnahen Bereiche und die Gesundheitswissenschaften? Welche Reformimpulse können vom Bologna-Prozess ausgehen? Exemplarisch sollen auf der Veranstaltung Diskussionen zur Erreichung eines Europäischen Hochschulraums im Gesundheitssektor sowie der Einbeziehung der Medizin und der Gesundheitsberufe vertieft werden.
Auf der Tagung soll ein Raum geschaffen werden, der einen nachhaltigen und konsensorientierten Diskurs zur Zukunft der deutschen Medizin und der Gesundheitswissenschaften im europäischen Hochschulraum ermöglicht und die bereits bestehenden Reformbestrebungen in diesen Bereichen darstellt und fördert. Die Tagung richtet sich an: Vertreter der Medizinischen Fakultäten, Vertreter der Fachhochschulen und Universitäten im Bereich Gesundheitswissenschaften, studentische Fachvereinigungen, Gesundheitsberufe, Fachverbände, Akteure der Akkreditierung, CHE, Wissenschaftsrat, Bundesärztekammer, mögliche interessierte Arbeitgeber.

Potentials and Limits of the European reform process for medicine and health sciences in Germany Introduction The Bologna Process of creating a European Higher Education Area (EHEA) has been the most important factor influencing reform efforts in German higher education in recent years. Within this context, questions regarding possible reforms in those fields of study ending with a state examination (“Staatsexamen”) have been of continuous concern. Regarding medical education the question has been raised whether the EHEA could or should have any deeper impact for the future of medical education in Germany.
The aim of the conference is to discuss the question of the potentials offered by the EHEA for medicine, related fields and health sciences. During the conference and based on examples and good practices, a discussion on the creation of a European Higher Education Area in the Health Sector and the inclusion of medicine and health sciences into the current European reforms shall be started and deepened.
The aim is to create a space for a sustainable and consensus oriented discourse on the future of German medicine and health sciences in the EHEA. Furthermore, existing reform efforts in these areas shall be presented and enhanced. The target groups of the conference are representatives of medical faculties in German universities, representatives of universities and universities of applied sciences offering studies in health sciences, student associations, health professionals, players in accreditation and quality assurance, employers and higher education decision makers.

The aim of this section is the presentation of reform efforts in medicine and health sciences in other European countries. The context of the reforms shall be presented by European organisations and will be supplemented with national examples. Based on these, the question of the potentials of the European reform process for medicine and health sciences shall be discussed.

In diesem Veranstaltungsblock sollen die möglichen Impulse des europäischen Reformprozesses für die Diskussion in Deutschland erörtert werden. Dazu werden zunächst einige zentrale Akteure ihre Positionen darlegen. Anschließend werden einzelne Fragen in Workshops vertieft.
In this block, possible impulses of the European reform process for the German discussion shall be identified. To this end, key players within Germany will present their position. Afterwards, selected issues will be focussed on in workshops.
